I was licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MT452) in December of 1982 and in September of 1983, co-founded the Gainesville Family Institute along with Dr. Andres Nazario. From its inception, the Gainesville Family Institute has provided therapy to individuals, couples and families as well as providing professional supervision, consultation and training in systemic therapy and related mental health areas.

At present, I am providing direct counseling services Monday – Wednesday. Supervision, consultation and training are scheduled on a case by case basis.

I view my work as emancipatory in nature, assisting people gain greater degrees of freedom and authorship in their relationships and lives. I see my work as grounded in systemic theory and influenced by Narrative and Oppression Sensitive practice. I am interested in issues related to power and its influence on shaping meanings, interactions and the stories we live. My interests include areas of survival, resilience, intergenerational legacies, collaboration and aesthetics.
