Caroline is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with the State of Florida with over 15 years of experience.  Caroline has a Master’s degree in Education, as we well as a specialist degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Florida. She is honored to be a partner at the Gainesville Family Institute, as well as a State Approved Supervisor for Mental Health Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists in training. Scheduling: Caroline sees clients Monday through Thursday. Appointments are offered for morning, afternoon and early evening. Friday, late evening, and weekend appointments unavailable.  
 

Fee Information: Caroline accepts the following insurances in-network -United Behavior Health, Aetna, CMS, AvMed. She accepts Blue Cross and Blue Shield/Florida Blue as an out of network provider. We have a billing specialist who can look up your benefits if needed and we handle insurance billing. Caroline also offers a negotiated rate for out of pocket clients if needed. 

Specialties: Caroline sees clients aged 13 and up and all backgrounds. Aside from individual counseling, Caroline has expertise in working with families and couples. She has experience and training in peer/relational issues, family conflict, parenting, adjustment issues, self-esteem, anxiety, and general emotional distress. Her current clinical interests include perinatal mental health and the transition into parenthood for individuals and couples. Additionally, Caroline was the Director of a UF Health non-profit focused on adolescence and resilience. Caroline has experience as an adjunct at the University of Florida in the field of Public Speaking and Communication, and possesses specialized experience in the challenges of being a university or college student. Caroline is also a EMDRIA Approved EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist and has specialty training and experience in treating trauma. 
 

Credentials: Caroline has three degrees from the University of Florida, with her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Counselor Education, and a Specialist Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has been licensed for over 10 years in the state of Florida  (MT2795, FL) anbd is a state-approved supervisor for counselor and therapist trainees.
